Anikitos Hadjicharalampous was born in Limassol in 1966. He has a degree in marketing from the Technical Educational Foundation of Athens and a diploma in Travel &Tourism from London City College. He has worked for several years as a salesman and a tourist adviser. 

Anikitos initially showed an interest in photography as an amateur. In 1998 he was employed as a cameraman by Mega Channel, in Cyprus and thus became interested in photojournalism. At present, he mainly focuses on documentary photography, drawing his subjects from the people's daily lives.
In 2000 he travelled to the Gaza Strip with the Doctors of the World - Cyprus  during the Intifada. In 2003 he traveled to belligerent Iraq and in 2006 to the flooded areas of Romania. In September 2008 he took part in a mission of the Organization Doctors of the World - Cyprus in Sri Lanka, in the context of the Organization's activities in support of the victims of the areas affected by the Tsunami and the October 2009 in West Sumatra of Indonesia on new mission by organizing Volunteer Doctors - Cyprus for providing medical assistance to residents of earthquake victims. Also in August 2016 he took part in a mission of the Organization Volunteers Doctors - Cyprus in Nairobi, Kenya in the context of the Organization's program to support the children on St. Clement Primary School in Riruta. He has taken part and was awarded in several competitions, while part of his work has been published in local magazines and newspapers.
In 2001 he took part in a group exhibition entitled "Gaza, Land Under Shadows" as well as in the photographic journal published by the Doctors of the World - Cyprus under the same title. In September 2004 he presented his first solo exhibition entitled "Visitors in their land" on the crossing over of Greek Cypriots to the occupied areas after the opening of check points on April 23, 2003. In November 2008 he issued his first personal photo album with the same title: "Visitors in their land" .
At present he continues to collect photographic material related to the occupied part of Cyprus and is also working on a long-term project on Orthodoxy.

2001 - 1st prize from the pancyprian competition organized by the Youth
          Organization of Cyprus entitled "The power of volunteerism."
2002 - Group exhibition on photography entitled "Gaza, the Grey City", at
          Castelliotissa, Nicosia.
2003 - 1st prize and 3rd praise at the pancyprian competition organized by                   the Photography Association of Cyprus.
2004 - Solo photography exhibition entitled "Visitors in their land",
          Melina Mercouri Hall, Nicosia.
        - 2nd prize at the pancyprian competition organized by Nikon, entitled                 "The Children."
        - 3rd prize at the pancyprian competition organized by Honeywell                       Τravel entitled "Cyprus, the path to Europe."
2005 - 3rd prize at the pancyprian competition organized by the                                 Photography Association of Cyprus.
2006 - 1st and 3rd prize at the pancyprian competition organized by the                       Welfare Fund of the CYTA Employees (WFE-CYTA) entitled                                "Communication."
2007 - 2nd and 3rd prize at the Pancyprian competition organized by the                       Cyprus Tourism Organization, entitled "Cyprus, 35 Years of                             Tourism."
